I was not able to find any official documentation on those arguments. Basically, I was able to put it together based on examples on stackoverflow and various blog posts. What are you trying to accomplish?

How did you find the documentation on this topic? I’m looking for all the different possible values for /p:DeployTarget, /p:MsDeployPublishMethod, etc. and can’t find it andywhere. Where did you find the documentation to know that ‘Package’ was an option for /p:DeployTarget?

Use InnoDB tables. They support foreign key relationships.

Hello, Christopher!

We have encountered a problem of using Entity Framework with InnoDB tables with foreign keys.

The same problem is well described by Christopher Hemple in his message “ADO.NET Entity Generation Wizard Taking Hours” (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1277151/ado-net-entity-generation-wizard-taking-hours).

In our database there are 130 tables with foreign keys, and model generation now takes about three hours…

What do you think about this problem? Can you help us to understand and to solve it?

First of all Thank You very much Chris for the interesting post.

I also tried to add manual association but is not working properly.

After Extending the data model, I can see the obvious slowness. Any Idea??

@toby johnson Not in the current implementation because that entity object is coming from a different context. You could try working around this by exposing the category repository or something.

Hello Chris, thanks for the interesting post, I am just getting started with MySQL and EF. I too had a “frustrating experience trying to manually add the association” in the EF designer. Would your workaround (hand-coding the child collection allow one to modify the collection (update an existing or add a new) and save back to the database, as it would if it was auto-generated? Have you come across any better solution since then for this?
